  • Bus - The Bus is a very good means for discounted and reliable travel after your delivery. Greyhound offers a national Bus pass to allow you unlimited bus usage for the time duration of the pass. Bus Pass Pricing. By using the bus pass, you will have additional expense in the form of taxis and shuttle services to and from pick up and destination. For additional discount details on bus programs, please check with the Horizon recruiting department.
  • Plane - Air transportation is an excellent method of transportation. However, it can be costly and vary in accessibility based on available seats and timing of ticket purchase. Air travel is recommended to senior drivers 62 and older. At this age requirement, most air carriers will offer a discounted pass book for travel within the 48 states.

  • Rental Cars - Rental cars can be a great source of return transportation based on one way pricing. This method works really well when more than 1 driver shares in the fixed cost of the daily one way rate. Daily rates vary, you will need to check with your rental car company preference for daily one way pricing.
               Hotwire  is a great way to get good rental car rates.
     
  • Train - Amtrak also offers a national pass. Although this is a viable means of travel, traveling by train can be inefficient based on the locations of the stations in proximity to delivery points.
  • Reload- Most of the loads originate in Indiana and Oregon, however, there are many available re-loads,  nationwide, through our re-load dispatch. We try to keep you loaded as much as we can in an attempt to reduce your deadhead mileage.
  • City buses, shuttles and taxis - There is a local shuttle service that will bring you out to Wakarusa from the Elkhart bus station and South Bend airport. Information will be provided at orientation. Using the city transit systems effectively will help you reduce your transportation expense.
