How to Out-fit a tow car
 

The following pieces of equipment will be needed to outfit your tow car:
 

• Base Plate -  The base plate will be attached to the frame of your vehicle. The price may vary according to the design of your car. This piece of equipment will be used to connect your Towbar.
• Towbar - The Towbar is usually an A frame design. This piece of equipment will attach to the base plate and is designed to connect to the ball hitch that is attached to the rear of the drive vehicle. This is the actual connecting bar used to connect the car to the drive vehicle.
• Wiring - Your car will need to be fully wired to properly connect to the drive vehicle. The wiring will use your tow vehicle wiring system for rear lighting control and all proper connectors and plugs will be installed to allow for proper connection to the drive vehicle.
• Adjustable stinger and ball hitch - The adjustable stinger and ball equipment will be used to attach to the drive vehicle to allow for proper connection from the towbar. The ability to adjust is important based on the varying heights of rear hitches on drive vehicles.
• Safety Chains - Safety chains are mandatory for connection from the drive unit to the towed vehicle in case of separation during transport.
• 7-way and 6-way adapter, motorhome pigtails, truck lighting kits - Lighting adapters will be needed to properly connect to motorhomes and trucks.
• Universal Hitchbar - The universal hitchbar is a piece of equipment that is designed to connect to the rear of a unit at the base of the chassis rails. This piece of equipment will be needed to connect your towbar on vehicles that are not properly equipped with rear hitch bar equipment.
• Lighting connection kit
  To effectively connect your tow car to commercial vehicles, you will need to possess a lighting kit. This customized lighting kit may be accessed when you get to orientation.
